อบต.พลกรัง
เดิม บ้านพลกรังมีชื่อเรียกว่าบ้านพลรั้ง เล่าต่อกันมาว่าสมัยก่อนได้เกิดสงครามกับสยามได้จัดกองทัพขึ้นเพื่อไปต่อสู้ กับศัตรูจึงมารั้งทัพไว้ที่หมู่บ้านนี้ เลยเรียกกันว่าบ้านพลรั้ง ต่อมาจึงเปลี่ยนชื่อจากบ้านพลรั้ง มาเป็นชื่อ “บ้านพลกรัง” เนื่องจากสำเนียงของชาวบ้านที่เรียกติดปากกันตามภาษาโคราช
ในสมัยก่อนนั้นพลกรังมีเพียง 1 หมู่บ้าน ต่อมาเกิดเป็นตำบลขึ้น และได้แยกหมู่บ้านออกเป็นหลายหมู่ โดยมีนายผันสุขสำราญ เป็นกำนันตำบลพลกรังเป็นคนแรกและเมื่อประมาณปี พ.ศ. 2535ได้แยกตำบลออกเป็น 2 ตำบล คือ ตำบลสีมุม และตำบลพลกรัง
